Where have I been? I've missed updating my blog but I haven't been neglectful of our local history. Instead, I've been spending the better part of the last ten months working feverishly on the research and program delivery for my two newest local history courses at Conestoga College. After two successful terms, I am honoured to have met so many passionate local history students-some of whom are descendants of the early Pennsylvania Germans who settled this area (like me!). I have and continue to enjoy teaching others who clearly love the stories about this area. Over the next while, I shall share some of the research information that I have been busy compiling these last few months on this blog. Sometimes, I may even host a guest--perhaps a student who has conducted original research on a local history person, place or thing who wants to share his or her work. I am excited to see this unfold....
This morning, and eager for true Spring I might add, I walked up to Joseph Schneider Haus and captured several chilly but pristine shots that I thought might help me to fire up my blogging muse.......
We're looking forward to reading about your discoveries in the field of Waterloo Region heritage Joanna. Perhaps we can reblog some of the most interest to our Southern Ontario heritage readers!
